Indonesia is one of the largest tin producing countries in the world. Our Exploration and Development Department, staffed by experienced technical personnel and backed by comprehensive range of equipment and software, continues to explore new opportunities for new mining resources development. Since the takeover by MSC in 2002, exploration activities have been increased to locate new tin deposits within the Contract of Work area.
The range of activities include the following :
- A complete spectrum of geological and geochemical investigations on reconnaisance as well as detailed basis.
- Provision of experienced field staffs to carry out alluvial and hard rock drilling for exploration, evaluation and development.
- Laboratory analytical and testing facilities comprising of X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Inductive Couple Plasma (ICP), Quantitative Mineral Estimation (QME) and wet analyses of drill samples, mineral processing and other mineralogical and metallurgical testwork.
- Evaluation of ore reserves, geological intrepretations, bulk sampling and pilot plant tests, mining grade control, production forecast, cash flow projections and feasibility studies.
- Field and structural mapping using Global Positioning System (GPS)
